Our purpose

Jesus Christ is the reason our church exists. Since He is our Creator and Savior, we live, ultimately, to glorify Him in our fallen world.

We glorify our great God through two main avenues:

  • meeting the spiritual and physical needs of our church family
  • reaching out into the community to show them Christ

We purpose to love God with all our hearts, to sing to Him with genuine and reverent hearts, and to yield to the still, small voice of God when He grips our hearts with His truth. We purpose to invite people to Jesus and establish lifelong disciple-making relationships.

What we believe

Since God’s Word is our foundation, we are passionate about discovering what God has communicated to us. That being stated, we certainly don’t have everything that God said figured out. However, we continue to study discerningly in order to live out 2 Timothy 2:15: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.”

Our Pastor

When he was 7, Nathan Dobson heard and understood the good news of Christ's redemptive plan. He received this gospel for himself, confessing his sin and claiming Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. In his junior high years, he yielded  to the Holy Spirit’s call to full-time ministry. In 1995 he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Bible and in 1998 his Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Northland International University in Dunbar, Wisconsin. He served as an intern for one year under Pastor Russell Boersma at Hills Corners Bible Baptist Church, and then the church called him to continue on as assistant, which he did for the following six years.

His burden to teach the Word of God grew during that time, and he followed the Lord’s leading to Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, where he earned his Master of Divinity degree. God then led him back to Hills Corners in the fall of 2009 to serve as pastor. In 2018, the church changed its name to Hope Bible Church.

He is thankful to serve the Lord with his wife Kristen and their 7 children and foster children. Though Pastor Nathan enjoys camping, fishing, and hunting, he is never happier than when he is digging into God's Word or discussing it with others.
